It's Building Up

Uggg. I've being over run by a plauge of mess... Very very soon I will start a systematic clean out of all our cupboards.... Soon being the operative word, for now though, I think I'll go make a cup of tea!

Please Sit Where You Like

The big A and I often talk about what we would like our wedding to be like. One of the things we are big on is people sitting wherever they want. We're hoping to have big long tables and then people can plop themselves down. I'm not too worried about people not mingling as we'll be doing a Friday night and Saturday activity so by then everyone should be nice and familiar!

A Table Setting Anyone Could Do

Every time I visit the Sunday Suppers site I find a new idea for table settings or delicious food. Today I came across this easy setting and I think anyone could just about do this. Here are three things that I think make this setting.

1. The layering of plates. It helps make it feel just that little bit more fancy.
2. For a more personal touch, a menu card. Don't worry if you can't print your card like these pictures, it could be written on vintage postcards, brown kraft paper. Get creative.
3. Left of centre table placements. I love that the knife, fork and spoon are all grouped together on the right hand side, who says you have to put them on each side of the plate? And the double drinking glasses help create texture and interest.

A Clever Birthday Present Idea

Whenever someone in my family has a birthday, we have a tradition of going round the table and saying something nice about them. So imagine my surprise when i saw this little birthday tradition idea on the Design Sponge guest blog. Brooke from InchMark has a tradition within her family of picking each letter of the alphabet and saying something nice about the person. B is for Beautiful! C is for caring! ... you get the drift. Now you can download a template to make your own alphabet pack. This would make a really sweet present for someone.

DesignSponge Online Wedding!

Hurrah for this wedding! Grace and AC put together a purely delightful wedding when they married in Savannah earlier this year. No detail was missed at this beautiful day and the results are stunning.

Its going to be a relaxing weekend, we have a big BBQ at a friends house this afternoon and any other available time will be spent at the beach. I hope you stay cool and relaxed this weekend! x
