Our Home Tour - The Nursery!

Happy Tuesday everyone.  Since I've been on maternity leave I've been a busy little bee shooting our home for a very special home tour.  Lets get started on part one - The Nursery!  I've been dying to share this with you for so long!

Right from the beginning I knew I wanted a sophisticated nursery that was soothing, relaxing and homely for our baby girl.  My colour palate started with a Madeline Weinrib grey chevron rug.  With the help of my aunty and the lovely ladies at No Chintz I added dashes of pink, charcoals, whites and icy greens for a calming but cute palate.

The feeding nook is one of my favourite places in her room.  The chair was grabbed for a steal at one of my favourite shops, Haven & Space in a little country town called Berry.  I made a pelmet box out of a charcoal ticking fabric and then added sheer curtains which were actually fabric panels from our wedding reception.  I love my interiors to have a meaning and taking some fabric from our wedding was a perfect example of this.

The crib came from IKEA and was accessorised with Pottery Barn and Seed textiles.  The Big A walked for a mile in the snow last December in Chicago to pick those elephant sheets so I love them that little bit more!  The change table was a repurpose of our vintage linen cabinet that we've popped a changing mat and caddy onto.

The babies tallboy is an area full of DIY goodness.  The tallboy was picked up from eBay then painted a dusty pink and grey and white floral knobs added.  The art is actually a picture of my mum playing on the beach as a little girl, again the perfect way for our interiors to have meaning. The lamp was another DIY project.  Originally it had a pretty plain beige lampshade but after a trip to my favourite fabric shop No Chintz we covered it in this amazing green, blue and grey floral.

  2. It is so beautiful. It's refreshing to see a nursery which is soft and pretty without being pink and frothy 9as much as I love pink!) I love the feeding chair and the rug, and the fact that your curtains were from your wedding. You've done such a great job :) x
